The Veloteers Bicycle Club and Historic Watertown are pleased to announce the 2012 Big Hill Challenge at Watertown.

Cyclists of all ages and ability levels are invited to enjoy one of four scenic routes through Wilson, Dekalb, Smith and Cannon counties.

All rides begin in Historic Watertown and quickly dispatch you to God's country running along side creeks, century-old farmland, bucolic pastures and through rustic, character filled towns. At rides end we serve up a lunch we are proud to brag about.

    Family Friendly (FREE Entry)

The 10 mile loop travels the outskirts of historic Watertown. This sleepy, country route is perfect for young and old.

    Spring Chickens

The 30 mile route is a great outing for cyclists just getting into the swing of things early in the season. A rest stop mid-point takes you to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, with breathtaking views of serene pastures.

    Center Hill Dam

Favored by most intermediate and experienced cyclists, the 64 mile route takes you up and up around Center Hill Lake and down, down past the dam. Two rest stops on the route and lunch at the finish make this ride time well spent.

    Big Hill

Our century provides some of the best climbing in Middle Tennessee. Big Hill offers you a climb and descent that will bring you back year after year. But that's not all the climbing on this route, so be prepared to be challenged... at least between rest stops (3) and a well deserved lunch.

All rides will be fully supported by professional bike mechanics and rolling SAG teams.

Registration begins at 6:00. Park and register at Watertown High School, located at 515 W. Main Street. Ride start is at 7:00 am at the Town Square. The Family Ride has a slightly delayed start.

    Directions:

Take Interstate 40 East to Lebanon; exit 239A Watertown/Hwy 70 East. Travel approximately 12 miles to Watertown. There are four exits into Watertown from Hwy 70.

    HELMETS ARE MANDATORY
