Welcome
Riding year-round. For those, who are interested in bicycle riding.
What is a Veloteer?
Veloteer is derived from combining two words, "Velo" and "Volunteer".
Velo is from the Latin for "swift" as in "velocity" and was used by the French to describe an early type of bicycle, the "velocipede". Velo is now a common prefix for bicycle related subjects.
Tennesseans, as we all know, are referred to as "Volunteers," a nickname given to us by others who admired the "volunteering" spirit of Tennesseans in such wars as the Battle of 1812 and the Battle of the Alamo. We still proudly carry this nickname.
